Which Bike ??????

Virgin biker is back, and still a virgin
I am dying to get on a bike but I just can't seem to decide on which one. I have been given so much advise and I am trying to follow it but now can’t find a bike I like.

Most if not all say to go for a bike like a Yammie YBR but I just don’t like the feel of it, I like the cruisers like the Suzuki VL but they are harder to control especially for a learner like myself. As for doing your test on it, you’re apparently asking for trouble.

So does anyone know a cheap YBR (or equivalent) out there which will last me a year so I can then save up, take my test and then go for the big cruisers

If you like custom styling but want something a little more sensible then what about a Zontes Tiger. My wife has one and it is a brilliant little machine!

If you are concerned about chinese build quality then be advised that not all chinese bikes are rubbish. Have a look at the online review from Motorcycle Monthly.

In my opinion the bikes themselves are well made and finished to a good standard and spares availability should be good for some time to come. Resale value, however, will never be as strong as a YBR which is why the little yammie is always recommended first!
Anyway, go find a dealer, sit on the bike and see what you think.

I'm not sure what advice you've been given before but seriously just get a little ybr or cg and ride it! Riding any bike is way better than not riding at all!

Although if you can stretch to a ybr custom you're probably going to be very happy

I do like the styling of the chinese bikes but I dont think I would be able to sell it next year when I have done my test. And yes you're right riding anything is better then riding nothing (sounds like marrage )
Right cheapest YBR I can find then, most likely get the same money for it next year

You're not going to be sitting your tests on a 125 (because of the license changes next January) so get whatever will make you happiest.

If you want a cruiser, get a cruiser.

YBR Custom would be great, but it sounds like it'll be out of your budget.

If you're counting the pennies, don't completely rule out a used Chinese branded 125 cruiser (or a Korean Hyosung). There are plenty of them around, they can be had for much less than the Japanese branded ones, and if you buy cheaply enough to begin with, it's not going to depreciate.

Have you considered something like a Lexmoto Vixen (aka Huoniao HN125-8)? It's got cruiser styling hints, but the riding position is more commuter. They're cheap to begin with, have a strong owner community, and there's not a lot to go wrong with them.

The big caveat is that you have to be lucky and get a good example, then look after it well. YBR is still the smart choice.
