Friend of mine has just bought one like this;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPS-SAT-NAV-Waterproof-Leather-Case-w-Mount-Holder-Motorcycle-Motorbike-Cycle-/130732377532?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item1e7041c5bc

Seems to work pretty well.

I have a similar case as the above, but my bracket is different, mine looks a lot more sturdy and is held to the bar by two screws to clamp the two halves together.

If you have a smart phone I'd recommend one of the free sat nav apps (I use navfree), don't like taking my eyes off the road. Advantage is that you can plug headphones into the suckers, my good friend Dave tells me where I need to go.

warn your friend to keep a handful of cable ties handy, as they have a habit of breaking at the point where you tighten them up. i've had 2 do this so far. get the type with the two allen key screws as described above. having said that, it is a useful bit of kit, and mine has held up well against quite heavy rain Thumbs Up

I use the KappaTK741 https://www.ghostbikes.com/products/luggage-luggage-miscellaneous/2957-kappa-tk741-handlebar-gps-sat-nav-bag.html
Its not cheap at around £30, but its pretty good. Long velcro straps to hold it on, and will hold pretty much any satnav, and has space for other stuff in a pocket behind the padding - housekeys, phone etc.
