Hi i'm new to this forum.

I got myself a gilera runner vx(New shape) the otherday. Went for a ride today and noticed the speedo just stopped working it will only display 0mph and wont move from there.

It's a electronic speedo, Could the problem be the cable or the sensor? What do you guys think?

Regerding the cable, what am I looking for exactly... Snapped wire? Wire not connected properly?

The bike will not go fast enough to get you a speeding ticket and a speedo does not need to work for the MOT.

I think it does have to work if its fitted as a standard thing.

I know many garages who fail on speedos if their not working.

Really. How do they go about testing the speedo at an MOT test?

electronic speedo, gets info from wheel rim?? or conventional speedo drive and cable which drives sensor in electronic head??

suspect sensor or power problems, but speedo registers zero so probably sensor.........or its drive!
