Hi all new here
just been lookin at these new Jianshe bikes new to uk
I have confirmation from the importer that Jianshe is the name for yamaha in the chinese market and these are yamaha quality, same parts etc but for £999 thats under half the price of a ybr !!!
They look really good quality and should be reliable with a balanced shaft ohc engine
im seriously considering getting one
looks more the top end of the chinese market atm
What you all think?
thanks dave |

Well, that seems to check out. If they are indeed Yamaha's you shouldn't have a problem, however as they are made in and marketed in China I suspect the frame will be made of less-than-usual-quality metal and will have all the strength of a cheesestring. |

I'm calling bullshit and reccomending you purchase a proper bike rather than another chineese shitter with a different sticker on the tank.
It will cost the same.
It will be more reliable.
And when it does break, you can walk into any dealership & say i'd like a sprocket for a YBR and have it within 24 hours. Rather than the blank look, follwed by "jan what?? no, we dont have anything to do with them " ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

Hard to say. From Learner Legal, it does look near enough identical to the pre-2010 YBR, and the dimensions claim to be exactly the same.
Except the YBR is a 54.0 x 54.0 bore/stroke, electric start only, and fuel injected, whereas the Jianshie claims to be using a 56.5 x 49.5 electric-and-kick carb engine, same as the CG125 and this offroad stylee Jianshee.
So... I dunno. China makes many tens of millions of bikes every year, and a lot of them look alike but chop and change parts. Might be coming off the same line as Yahama badged bikes, might not.
What I'm pretty sure of is that joining as "jianshe-man" and gushing about them is going to get you Spam rated back into the stone age. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
