I'm after a new tank pad however I'm really fussy. I'm not massively keen on all these skull and grim reaper designs that are everywhere. Some bikes have real nice tank pad designs, the GSXR, Ninja, Hornet, Bandit etc but I have an SV and their OEM (don't know whether it is actually OEM) is quite dull imo. For that reason I'm thinking of going either for a fake carbon *prepares for lynch mob* or just a plain black one.

Plain imo, most of the graphic ones are just lame.

Avoid real carbon fibre ones though, my Aprilia came with one fitted that proceeded to ruin several pairs of jeans before I realised what was going on Neutral

I like that design, simple but different. But the whole idea of a tank pad is to protect the tank from the zip, but that has three holes that leave it open to scratching...?

Get your tank covered with VentureShield, costs more than a tankpad, but looks far better, and offers beter protection too. I had it done on my bike, you can barely see where it is on the tank (it's a tough transparent film) and it covers most of the back of the tank and the sides too.
