please don't rate this as spam. Thumbs Up
A while back i done a bike safe course with powys county council.Today i got an invite to do a biker down first aid course at my local fire station. The course is being run free of charge around the country.
Biker down

Facebook link

Again for anyone interested, the biker down scheme is starting to run throughout the uk. Run by The fire service and covers scene management, first aid and is a great course. And only lasts 3hrs

And it's free plus you get a free bike first aid kit:up:Very HappyThumbs Up

Anything to help bikers keep bikers alive is great in my opinion! especially since someone removing a helmet with the proper care and attention could potentially cause life altering injuries.

Cool thanks for the link, it's something I would certainly like to do. Just messaged them about whether they have a course on in Liverpool.

Biker Down was set up and is run by Jim Sanderson who is a Fire Officer with Kent Fire and rescue and is also now being established in Essex.

At the moment, they are the only 2 Brigades running the course and having gone and observed Jim running one of the sessions, well worthwhile.

Smile I'm a retained fireman, yes you read right, and was on a first aid course recently specificly about motorcycle accidents but for firefighters only, if you get a chance to do one it is very good, especially the skill required to remove a helmet ( 3 person action ) and to keep the head perfectlly still, well worth doing or knowing about. Thumbs Up

This is a prime example of why facebook pages suck. Great idea I want to do a course but can't work out if there is one near me or not!

But thanks for the heads up. I've added to the many questions about location of courses.

I found an alternative way to book for the Sussex area -

https://www.sussexsaferroads.gov.uk/safer-for-motorcyclists/events/details/531-biker-down.html

Try searching for 'biker down' with your county - worth a go.
