Fork Bush wear

Had fork seals done last year and mentioned bushes and bought the parts too.

Took it to a mechanic and he said he did them.

MOT today, your bushes seem a bit worn maybe you should get them done or your seals will pop dead quick.

Seeing as last year was pants with all the rain I did about 600 miles last year.

Surely they couldn't have worn so quick? Am I being cynical in thinking he didn't change them? Or maybe put it together and realised he forgot and lied about it?
