Trying to get my rounded off fork caps out in order to get a seal changed, have tried and tried but it won't budge and is very badly rounded off.
Any suggestions on removal? I've tried numerous sockets and mole grips but it just doesn't seem to want to budge and is getting worse each time I have a go at it. I need to get it off to do the seal for the MOT, stupidly when I fitted some progressive springs six months ago I tightened the caps with a ring spanner as its all I was able to get on to them which led to a little rounding...

You don't NEED to dismantle the forks to change the seals on RWU forks.

Jus' sayin'

Are you undoing it with the forks still in the yokes to stop them turning as you apply force. Make sure to loosen the top yoke before trying to loosen or they won't move at all.

either drain it all and fill with a set amount, or use a dipstick.
