Hey...

Had a look at anti-fog visors and they are almost the same price as my helmet (which im upgrading soon anyway!)

so for short term, do "anti-fog sprays" actually do a decent job, or are they just a gimmick?

When it's cold paintball players have an even tougher time keeping fog at bay then bikers, you are panting like mad with no airflow (I'm just unfit)

i've used this stuff before and I'd strongly recomend it https://www.store.justpaintball.co.uk/masks-goggles/proto/lenses-accessories-upgrades/h18-anti-fog-spray-small-bottle.html

Works as good as anti fog spray & costs next to nothing.

This. This method is as old as the hills and it works.

Do it on the outside too and rain will fly off of your visor in the airflow. Thumbs Up

I swear by Bob Heath's Visor spray. its about 2.99, lasts a whole winter for me, and is bloody brilliant.

I've yet to try the washing up liquid, but it seems to work in the same way as the Bob Heath.

Thin waterproof lining to prevent the water sticking to the visor and creating the mist.

I've tried 3 different ones and they were all a waste of time.....if you rub them in and buff them off so you can see no smears then the product comes off and is useless...if you lightly rub it in , yes it stops fogging, but the visor is smeared bad and quite dangerous as your vision is impaired.

I've tried every method of application...leaving it on, buffing it off, lightly buffing it.....just doesn't do the job.

I spray the Bob heath directly onto the visor then use a tissue to wipe in small cirlces. No smears and crystal clear

Probably works significantly better when combined with a breath guard.

I found a bottle of rain-x anti fog under my sink which was okay, but it specifically says not for plastics, probably because it causes crazing.

Does any of this work as backup for the built-in anti fog stuff Caberg have allegedly put on the inside of their visors?

All I know is it's only mildly effective but makes the inner surface of the visor rather rough, so anything you have to "rub in" has got no chance.

I might still try some of these on my bathroom mirror (huge, but stupidly unheated - the last person to do serious DIY in the flat was a mental) and the inside of the car windscreen... Cool

Also the soap/washing up liquid thing DOES work ... but, given my experience with it on indoor mirrors, it doesn't last long. Had to reapply it every 3 or 4 steamy showers, for example. So you'd be recoating your visor (or mirrors) on possibly a daily basis...
