When you say the engine sound has changed do you mean the sound from the exhaust? It may be that your engine and exhaust system was a little coked up and by giving it a good thrashing you've blown some of the crap out of it...also known as 'blowing the cobwebs out'!!

I don't know much about bikes as i'm just starting out myself (at 32 i'm a late developer!) but i have known this to happen with cars.

At the end of the day if the engine still runs ok and still pulls well then i would'nt worry too much about it Smile

Ade is probably right. You have blown the sh1te out of the engine, long runs are good for engines. Don't worry about it, dude. Thumbs Up

You may have blown a small gap in the exhaust manifold gasket too. This makes the engine sound raspy and less muffled than usual. Not a problem usually, it will just dribble some black gack after a while Karma

Ah problem solved then,of course i knew it was that all along but i posted that about cleaning the engine out just to attempt to sound clever...honest Very Happy

I'm glad it was nothing major, you could always patch the exhaust up with an old baked bean can and a couple of jubilee clips but we won't go down that route! Laughing
