Hi All,

My collector box recently snapped at one of the welds, I have old chrome motad silencers at the moment but the bolts to the bracket are all loose and all four captive nuts on the inside of the cans have come loose, they are basically held on with cable ties at the moment. I do have a replacent silencer here kindly provided at a good price by Ian from motad but it needs a little bit done to it before I would want to put it on and I would need to get a second to match. The thing is finding a second pipe, replacing the collector and getting the work done on replacement pipe all adds up to a lot of money. Enough that I can consider instead replacing with something a bit sportier sounding.

At the moment my top option is this four in to one stainless system, it comes with a viper slip on end can. There are lots of pictures of it fitted here: https://diversionclub.proboards.com/thread/11261?page=1
I'm a little undecided about how it looks with just the single end can. Also I am concerned about the downpipes and collectors being a single piece, as if the stainless is poor quality and does rot then I would have to replace the lot. At £320 including postage it is not far off 1/3 of the bikes value so is a lot to spend. Still it gets good reviews from those who have fitted it, at £320 it is one of the cheapest options out there so any other option has to be at the most £320.

My other two options rely on picking up a new collector, there is a brand new one on ebay for £70 but I am unsure if it is stainless or mild steel. For now I will assume it is stainless while I wait for a reply from the seller. So assuming I get the collector for £70 I am left with about £250 to pick up a pair of silencers which gives me either these delkevic cans:

https://i.ebayimg.com/t/SS70-Oval-Stainless-Twin-Exhaust-Silencer-Muffler-Yamaha-XJ900-Diversion-94-05-/00/s/OTUwWDk1MA==/$(KGrHqV,!iME7Etvwjy)BPtoBlu+t!~~60_57.JPG

Which by the looks of it would certainly give me the sporty sound I'm after but may perhaps be a little over the top considering the bike they are going on.

Or a set of Leo Vince cans which the design of can be seen here but I am yet to find a picture of, I hope they look a little like these: https://www.speedycom.co.uk/shop/images/C/FACTORY%20EVOII%20CANS-48.jpg
But would want to find out before I buy. For the sake of the poll I guess assume it is those unless somebody has a picture of the sito cans.

Or some other option which you may suggest. My main priority is resistance to weather as I ride all year around. Then looks and sound.

Thanks

I figure that may be a mess to read. I think I've ruled out the 4-1 so concentrate on delkevic vs Leo Vince.

Went for the dekavic, slightly longer than the ones in the above picture, will see how they turn out!

a biased view here- and hope they are ok- but choosing between chinese and long standing italian production looks a "no brainer" to me with Leo Vince winning hands down

Perhaps but I found a ton of reviews for the delkevic and none for the leo vince so went with the crowd, if I could have found a proper picture of the leo vince to at least know exactly what I was buying I may have gone with that, but all the ebay advert provided was the drawings for manufacture.

The only picture or any leo vince "SITO" pipe I can find is this from their American site:

https://www.leovinceusa.com/Scoot/2_OEM_Clips_2.jpg

Judging by the blurb I am glad I chose the delkevic, the SITO seems for akin to what Motad do (OEM replacement)

I bought a set of delkavic stainless down pipes for my old blade a couple of years ago and they bolted straight on with no messing about and was pleasantly surprised how good the quality was in both fit and finish. Still look good as new with a light buff even though they were used as main transport during the winter salt months!

They've arrived, very pleased with the quality so far, shall see how fitting goes!

Got the delkavics all fitted, they need a bit of fiddling with to get them aligned nicely but they went on pretty easily in comparison with getting the old ones off!

Took the baffles out more or less as soon as the pipes were on, they sound pretty nice, seem to have lopped 15mph off my top speed which while not necessarily a bad thing for my licence, does indicate it probably isn't running right. I'll pop the baffles back in and see how it rides.

Pictures to follow at some point!
