Hi all. im basically in the market for a new 125. I am looking for any sort of resource that index's brands of motorcycle and where they are manufactured. For example en 125 is manufactured in china or the honda cbf manufactured in india. Im basically looking for a reliable brand that is NOT manufactured in china. Probably going to be a honda.

Not sure having a bike made in India is any better than having one made in china myself, although all named bikes should have pretty good quality control.

Both the YBR125 and the CBF125 can have quality issues however.

You could always go for a Sym or a Hyosung, neither of which are Chinese.

so you wouldn't buy the majority of apple products then? as most are made in china.

you should try paying more attention to brands then model. E.g honda a good brand but people have been complaining on bcf about their cbf 125 build quality

You could look at the Suzuki Van Van, particularly if you prefer retro styling and the fat tyres of a larger bike. It is still built in Japan:

with the quality of bikes coming out now, i would just get a sodding Chinese bike now. The big names bike have failed in style. The only Japanese bike I would get would be the YBR125 if you want the new factor or just get an old CG125.

If you have money to burn (but totally pointless), get an NSR125 IF you know how to look after bikes. Avoid the stupid Aprillia RS125 at all cost. Nice to ride but not learner legal and burns a massive hole in your pocket. Its like running a performance car with stupid repair bills

You could also buy an older Jap stroker.

You could get a pretty decent restored earlier TZR125 for about £800

They are not in a particularly high state of tune, so are pretty reliable, they are faster than a modern 4 stroke, and if you keep it in good condition you will get the same if not more when you sell it as they are gaining classic status.

Back in the late 1980's and early 1990's they were the bike to have.

The Van Van could be an option but to me they are Ugly and slow, but each to their own.

Other options are the Yamaha RXS100, arguably a better bike than the CG125, the only problem is you cannot do your test on it as it is under 120cc

The problem the big Japanese brands have is that their build quality is getting worse, where as Chinese bikes are getting better, yet the Japanese bikes are still considerably more expensive.

What are you using to read this? Where was it made?

Sigh. The CBR125R is made in Thailand. Go on then.
