Reminds me of an Only fools and Horse episode where Del Boy was thinking selling "Trotters Crash turbans"

Basically Crash helmets that looked like a Turban. Laughing

It's call a turban for future reference. There is an awful lot of hair under there for impact absorption though!

Why should it both you?

Personal preference in my opinion. The thing that annoys me is that we have to wear one and they don't. I don't want to be forced to wear one.

I probably wouldn't wear one for my commute if it wasn't the law.

i agree with shinigami.

the country is far to soft with the religious stuff, if your Christian or whatever your screwed, convert to something else and all of a sudden health and safety laws in the workplace and road safety laws suddenly no longer apply to you.

now, on the road i dont really care, its not me who is going to have a split skull because of some obnoxious beliefs! but health and safety in the work place should be 100% no wiggle room. especially in restaurants.

i dont want to bite into my burger from McD's or tuck into that fish and chips to find a great big hair in it because the equipment engineer did not have to wear hair/beard nets.

Id think the same if I was driving a mini.

The car I drive does not matter regarding my way of thinking.

Would probably be a similar feeling to being stuck inside a postbox. Peripheral vision would be far from ideal.

Years ago.......in fact many many years ago........I worked at a factory in the midlands. On Fridays, we would get someone to go to the nearest chippy for lunch. Problem was that it was impossible to park a car there, and it was so far away that by the time someone had walked there, placed the order, had the order made up, and walked back, we had about 5 minutes of dinner break left to eat a huge bag of luke-warm chips. I was the only biker who worked there, so without a spare helmet, it was impossible to go and collect a shitload of chippy orders on my own. The problem was solved by persuading a lad by by the name of Amerik, a Sikh, to jump on the back and carry the bloody great box of chippy orders while i rode there and back! Sorted.......we then had a good thirty minutes to scoff a huge bag of piping hot chips! Amerik never complained, but i got the feeling he was somewhat relieved when the chippy closed down!

on a serious point, Sikhs had a massive fight on their hands to even get recognised as a religion under law, as Sikhs don't have an official homeland. The UK was the first country to officially recognise Sikhs as a "Race".
I've always found that Sikhs have more in common with Vikings than any other religious groups as they both started as the religion of warriors.
Sikhs also gave us the Karma Sutra!

sorry, I've studied comparative theology, that's why I'm an atheist.

Didn't we use this to our own advantage in India? They are a martial race, and looked down upon other castes, did they not?

I'm CofA, church of the apathetic, or Anglican!
However my mother is a Biology teacher, and you have to imagine, me as a five year old, being dragged away to Whitby for my 'Summer Holiday'.. to find myself in a field full of tents occupied by hippy students, and the utter disapointment after three days trecking over hills and dales with people prodding rocks and getting all exited at lichen, being told, "Yes of COURSE we are going to the beach today!" and getting all exited, putting on my shorts and flip-flops, getting my bucket and spade and little bag of UK flags ready for some very serious sand-castle building, to find myself on a rocky shale shore, under some very univiting cliffs, my mother and some of her hippy freinds getting all exited about limpets and the contents of rock pools, while some fella hangs off a bungie cord half way up the cliffs, with a Pentax taking photo's of nesting ganets or something trying to 'prove' some part of Darwins Theory, by showing that the birds look for mates that look like they do!

I must have been the only kid in my school who built genuine, 'Norman' castles on the beach, out of lime-stone! AND knew the exact type and age of Califerouse sediment to which the rock came from!

Yeah! Darwin. Darwin encouraged me to believe in SOME super-natural power... yup great and plausible theory BUT... explain chickens?

Come on? Lets think about this one? A ground roosting, flightless bird, that lays eggs in random undergrowth then abandons them?!?!?

This does NOT convince me that we exist via the mechanism of selection of the fittest!

The ONLY explanation is that some super-natural being found a flaw in thier grand plan, and thought, "Ah! I have a hole in my food chain! I know, I'll create a creature SO stupid any idiot can catch and eat it!"

Having suffered similar intelectual debates on the topic of variouse religions, however, I am unconvinced by ANY of them, and my conclusion IS that Yes, there is a God..... he did NOT create us in his image.... or he would NOT have put nerves in testicles, or created apendix that can just burst randomly and kill us!

And that in fact.... it was all something of a 'joke'......

A bit like Redditch's ring road!
