Dear BCF technical wizards,

To cut a rather boring short story even shorter, is running my bike with a loose cam chain going to cause it any great deal of harm?

It's getting sorted on tuesday but I have 4/5days of potential riding to and from work before then and it's starting to niggle at the back of my mind.

Why is the chain loose? Though most bikes now have an automatic CCT?

Automatic CCTs do wear out and fail - some types are worse than others.

It does have a CCT.

But that said the chain is loose so must be a problem with it somewhere.
