I'm genuinely interested in hearing about yours.

When did you obtain it?

Where did you obtain it?

How much did it cost you?

What did you have to do to obtain it?

Why did you want one? What reason did you need one?

Have you actually needed it yet?

Do you use it as fully as you anticipatd before obtaining it?

I am not knowledgable about them at all. Is it a physical licence. Like the DVLA one?

Hi mate, I'm not technically the best person to answer this but I can help out a little bit hopefully!

When did you obtain it?

I haven't got my actual licence yet as race licences expire each year and I do not require it until next year but I did my CTC (competitor training course) earlier this month, this is all you require if you have a full road motorbike licence.

Where did you obtain it?

The CTC test I attended was at the ACU house in Rugby, they also run these at Darley Moor Motorcycle club. All the details and dates can be found here https://www.acu.org.uk/Resource/Competitor-Training-Course.aspx.

How much did it cost you?

£30 for the CTC test (this lasts for 2 years, you have to redo this if you have not renewed your race licence for over 5 years I believe), your race licence then costs £43 for a year.

You also have to be a member of a registered racing association, contact the club you wish to race with for the cost of this but it is around £30 for year depending on the club.

What did you have to do to obtain it?

See above.

Why did you want one? What reason did you need one?

I am racing in EMRA next year.

Have you actually needed it yet?

As per the first question I haven't actually started racing yet so no.

Do you use it as fully as you anticipated before obtaining it?

Same as above.

I am not knowledgable about them at all. Is it a physical licence. Like the DVLA one?

As far as I know it is just a piece of card with your details on it as they mentioned at the CTC course not putting it around your neck as they tend to end up in an unreadable mess if they get wet.

Hope that is helpful, if you have any more questions I will try my best to answer!

When did you obtain it?

2007

Where did you obtain it?[/b]

I did the course run by Bemsee in Feb each year, when I did mine it was one day, but now it's over two days, if you plan to race with Bemsee come down the the Rookie day in December and they will sort your eye test as well as going through the paperwork. A bit more expensive than sorting it out yourself, but a darn sight easier!

How much did it cost you?

43 quid for the licence and whatever the CTC costs, the bemsee day is more expensive but the amount of advice and knowledge you get is invaluable.

What did you have to do to obtain it?

See above. You need a proper eye test, you don't need a medical these days. The required paperwork is on the ACU site

Why did you want one? What reason did you need one?

Because I wanted to race? Why else would you want one?

Have you actually needed it yet?

5 seasons of YPM racing, ACU test days. so Yea Laughing

Do you use it as fully as you anticipatd before obtaining it?

Yep, more than I thought I would, comes in handy for trackdays as well

I am not knowledgable about them at all. Is it a physical licence. Like the DVLA one?

Yes it's a card licence, not unlike the DVLA one.

There are various stages of licence, you start as a rookie, then proceed to clubman, national, international and so on. To progress you have to finish above the cutoff line at 3 tracks, it's all changed recently so I'm not sure how it works now, I've been a national for a few years.

Hope this helps.
