Swing arm in the bandit seems to of rusted it's self over the winter, looks like the second time it's done this as there is evidence of it being painted over once. It doesn't look like it's eaten in to the metal yet but second opinions will be appreciated and any advice on how to fix/clean it on the cheap untill I can get it powder coated would help

Put bike in paddock stand, remove rear wheel, use a drill with wire brush attachment and some spray, poundland stuff will do, drill till rust and some paint gone, paint over smooth metal with poundland paint then varnish.

Don't have a paddock stand with canter stand and a chock under the front wheel suffice? Is it worth using rustolem or does it not matter to much?

Just get the wheel out for easier access. For rusty parts like this I favour the hammerite rust killer/primer (used to be called No1). It comes in salmon pink or dirty brown. Then overpaint with some tough gloss of your choosing - hammerite again mybe. The primer alone will hold off for a while but is porous.

ACF50 will kill and prevent any deeper rust, once you've removed the surface rust. None of the pics look serious yet but I'd get it cleaned asap. Using paints will make it rough and crappy if not done right.

I use Dinitrol RC800. You have to remove the flaky stuff but leave some rust as this is required as part of the curing process.
