Evening gents, I need to change the rear tyre on the T'Cat. I'll have to go for a part worn for now as cash flow is a little 'interupted', I've found a tyre that's almost the same which is a Bridgestone Battlax 160 60 17 BT020 70W.
The marking on the existing tyre is 160 60 17 BT45 70W, my question is what does the 'BT' & 70W bit mean? Both tyres are tubeless types as well, the part worn is a good price considering the cost of a new tyre but I want to be sure it'll suit my bike before buying. As always, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

70W is the load and speed rating.

The BT bit, I'm fairly sure, is just Bridgestone's way of categorising a tyre - they do S for Sport, BT for Sports Touring and SC for scooters - or some such like that. Anyway, it's not of any particular importance, it's just Bridgestone that use the BT coding AFAIK.

What tyres do you have currently?

I'm cheap and use race scrubs, £90 for a set of 2 supercorsas Laughing

Cheers for the replies gents, I assumed as long as it was the same 160/60-17 size I'd be OK. The 'BT' meaning sports tourer would make sense as that's what the bike is classed as.

@ Paddy, I've got a Bridgestone Battlax on the rear & a Pirelli on the front (both came with the bike when I bought it).

I'd match the Pirelli on the cat, they are great little handling things.

Wasn't sure about using a Pirelli, I stopped using them when I had cars because they seem to wear quickly (I live in Milton Keynes so there's a roundabout every 500 yards). Rolling Eyes
