I don't particularly like watching these videos but this is the sort of thing that should be broadcast on the news. Not "20 people died in Syria today" which gets brushed off so easily by us westerners.

They are having a civil war. In history, civil wars are the most horrific, vicious, sadistic wars fought. Read about the English civil war, the American, even what went on in Libya.

I don't have an answer, and to be utterly honest, I don't care. Their problem not mine. What are we meant to do? Go in and sort it out? Then we will be imperialists forcing our views on others.

Re reading this the next day and it sounds callous when I don't particularly want it to be. I feel for the innocent people caught up in that war, just as I do for any other war but I still don't see what anyone can do about it.

People should know. I am all for the spreading of knowledge. More people watch it, more likely that somewhere, someone in power is persuaded to do something I suppose.

I'd be inclined to think the people in power are the very reason it's happening in the first place.

Besides, suicide bombers can't really be defeated can they?

I mean political power from other nations.

News reports are saying it was a planted bomb by the Syrian government. Not sure if that is true though.

Yeah well you can be sure their pockets are being lined in some way so they'll turn a blind eye.

I am not talking about politicians being emotionally affected. Laughing That would be a pipe dream.

I am talking about "the people" forcing politicians to take notice. When I type it, it sounds so simple but you know what I mean.

There's a lot of bad shit being served out every day. Why is this turd sandwich of particular concern?

Is it because you saw some images of it and decided that this cause had therefore become more important than the ones that you haven't seen?

Who?

What?

I really don't.

Can you spell it out. What's your goal? What do you want to happen to achieve that goal?

What, like taking to the streets by the million and protesting about it? Hasn't ever worked never.

Or you mean they go in, drag the politicians out of their 3rd houses/palaces or whatever the fuck they live in, and start executing them one by one until they start to do something actually productive for the people, instead of themselves? Dunno how that would turn out but I'd be happy to watch it played it.

I mean politicians seeing peoples reactions to these sorts of things and trying to gain popularity by doing something.

I am not saying this will ever happen, I just think people should see this stuff.

I think people should see this stuff too, might give them some sort of perspective when they whine that the council won't give them a flat or that their boss is being a cunt or that they are paying for single parent mums.

It's never nice seeing stuff like that.

But I do think, what can we actually do. And if we COULD stop this one, what about the others.

What about the Palestine/Israel conflict.

What about conflicts in Africa.

What about Bahrain.

What about all the other civil wars, uprisings and conflicts in the world, you can't solve all the problems.

What is it that you think the politicians should do? Politicians don't exactly have a stellar track record when it comes to meddling in the affairs of sandy countries.

Then maybe it's time for us to stop pretending that we know something that the Natives don't, and put down the White Man's Burden.
