Just went out as it looked like a nice sunny autumn day then wham! Out of nowhere a ruddy blizzard sweeps in! I ended up coming straight home. I was riding mostly one handed as I was having to wipe the snow off my visor and I didn't dare ride with the visor up as when I tried my specs got snow on them and I got a mouth and nosefull of snow, MEnTaL!!!!

I remember a trip out midsummer, just got back from work and it was a glorious day, lets get the bike out I thought.

Managed to get a few miles out then wham, it started raining, midpanic I nearly dropped the bike! Just managed to spin it round without dropping it even though the road felt like it was covered in ice, and just nursed it home before it soaked through my shiny leather suit. Was a most distressing experience and not something I would ever wish on anyone! Smile

i've been riding since March and this is the first time the weather has forced me off the bike. Partly my own fault for not being prepared as I was just wearing my kevlar jeans and hillwalking jacket. I suspect we are now in the season for a lot of posts like this :-/

Snow is just fine...it's a bit strange the first time out, but fine.

It's ice that's the problem, that and hard slush... Wink

As Donny once said - you're confusing rain with napalm! Wink

That's what made me feel unsafe, riding mostly with one hand. I'm determined to be as "all weather" a rider as I can. For one thing is I get depressed if I have to miss a day riding, dread how I will feel if I have to go a week or more without some bike time.
