Hi,

A bit of advice really. Could anybody recommend a decent, yet cheap mini air compressor? The job I only need it for is cleaning carbs, nothing major, but I don't want to fork out a lot of money for a super-dooper air compression unit. Preferably not powered by a cig lighter lol

Cheers

Hmmm... given some of the deals on DIY garage compressors in places like Aldi, unless you want sustained running & lots of use, might as well get a full size one, what are they, around £100 with the usual array of attachements?

Sort of money you pay for a pro-spray, low cfm compressor for an air-brush.....

Which leads me to.......

Aerosols.

Theres some 'clean-air' in a can jobs, about; some are used on hobby air-brushes, but some have like a WD40 straw for just this kind of 'low-use' job. Maybe worth hunting out.

Air duster, for cleaning computers. Not really air and bloody expensive for how much use you get.

If it's just flow cleaning carbs then just blow through the jets with your mouth.

If you don't fancy blowing through the jets then use a bicycle pump with one of these

Always found it works better to make a seal around the jet (obviously after having taken it out) with my lips and exhale as hard as possible.

Ok, there's usually a few bits you can't get to with this, but definitely works better than an air compressor in my experience.
