 |
|
I'm on the hunt for a new winter textile jacket and I've come across an IXS item that seems to tick all the right boxes.
I can't seem to find any online reviews (other than on the websites of people selling them) so has anyone got any experience of their gear, good or bad?
Cheers folks. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

I bought an IXS jacket off of eBay a few years ago and it's been fine, It's waterproof and warm. Zips are fine, it has volume adjusters on the elbows which keep the armour in position. I'd have another one like a shot. |

I've got leathers and they've been very good to me. J&S sell loads of IXS stuff at reasonable prices. Go for it.

All sounds very encouraging and thanks for your replies.
The only fly in the ointment is, J&S are the only UK stockists and they don't do my size in the jacket I want
Oh well, back to the drawing board. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

Quick update, if anyone's interested.
Props to the guys at J&S New Malden; went back to find out more about another IXS jacket that appears on their website, only to discover they only stock it at one branch in Northwich.
Before they ordered it, they showed me the IXS catalogue to make sure I was getting the right thing, wherein I spotted another item that was better suited to my needs, except J&S don't stock it at all.
Left it with them to check out price and availability, called back today and they've ordered it for me; J&S are thinking about stocking it sometime next year and they will sell it to me for slightly less than I was willing to pay, so looks like I'm the guinea pig. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

Nice one. The chaps and frippets at my local J&S are pretty helpful too. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
