Hi im having some problems with the throttle on my bike

if the cable is tightend as it should be 2-3mm slack the throttle revs when the handlebars are fully locked one way.

When i first got the bike it would rev like mad when it was tightend up on the touch of the throttle

Is down to poor routing of the cable ?

The bike is a zxr 400 L and i cannot find any info regarding the throttle routing

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Yep. Check the cable route - it'll be binding somewhere. Thumbs Up

Yes. If it's being trapped then it will. A manual will show you the correct cable route - have a dig through the sticky posts at the top of the workshop page. Thumbs Up

Did you look in the service manual (haynes or similar) rather than the owner's manual?

Also,

check your throttle control hasn't moved down your bar at all. I had this just last week, bike would rev up on full right lock. The whole control part had shifted down the bars by about an inch, pushed it back and it's fine now.

2 minutes of Google searching and:

https://adf.ly/2317382/https://www.blackbears.ru/manual/files/Kawasaki_ZXR400H_Service_Repair_Manual.zip

That's the base manual for the series - there's a supplement out there too.

Failing that, just use your eyes. You should be able to see if it's running freely.

Hi took the fuel tank off and have access to the throttle cables, Its 2 cables and they go through a hole at the front to the right of the steering, There are also a few other wires, have tried to seperate the other cables the best i can.

When i turn the handlebars to the right the cables are bending round and hitting the frame where the cable goes back through the frame hole.

The throttle becomes sticky and the engine revs when the handlebars are turned to the right.

Im stuck now with what to do i dont know if the cables are going through the correct frame hole, i have oiled both cables at the carbs,

any help/suggestions would be appreciated thanks
