Hi all,

Sorry to add another boot question to the forum. I have been looking for a casual looking pair of boots with decent protection, and have discovered the TCX Airtech Gore-Tex Boots here - https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/38287.

Has anyone tried them or any other Airtech Gore-Tex boot? Just want to know if they are comfortable to walk around in, last long, and if they really are as waterproof as the label says.

Thanks,
Antony.

I did find a couple of reviews online for the Airtech boots, and the consensus is that they are a great pair of boots with reasonable protection, although best for the summer since they can get a little too breezy in the colder months. If anyone was interested.

In light of that, I have instead purchased a pair of these: https://www.dainese.com/uk_en/motorbike/st-pannier-d-wp.html?cat=125

What size are you?

I would go for the TCX Competetizone S Goretex boot. They have been discontinued but some places still have them dependent on size.

Fantastic boots, so much in fact that in January i'm getting another pair and a pair of the non-goretex version.

Edit*

Sorry just seen you want casual looking boots, which the competetizone aren't, so disregard my recommendation.

As for TCX, great quality and very comfortable boots.

I bought a second hand pair of Tcx on ebay for £20 not sure of type. If the ones you are looking at are anything like mine then get them. Worn in all day rain not a drop got in, maybe to warm for summer use, try on first before buying, i`m a 10 and these are snug at size 11.

Thanks for the replies. I already purchased the Dianese ones ( https://www.dainese.com/uk_en/motorbike/st-pannier-d-wp.html?cat=125 ) but will keep the TCX's in mind for a second pair, or if the Dianese boots don't measure up. Was ideally looking for a boot I can wear most of the year.

OP is (was) looking for something comfortable for walking around, so leather heavy models like the Competizione probably aren't ideal.

I have two pairs of TCX boots; S-Sportour WP (for waterproof) and S-Race GTX (for goretex). The WP isn't actually waterproof; it keeps light rain at bay for perhaps 40 minutes at most. The GTX is waterproof, at least so far as I've tested it. But neither boot is particularly comfortable for a long walk around town.

I'm now done up in goretex from the neck down, with proshell jacket and trousers and goretex gloves inside tucano urbano neoprene muffs, and I look forward to the rain! Seriously considering doing a tour to Ireland to see family before Christmas, and ignoring the weather.

Thanks for that. I have heard good things regarding goretex boots, so will have to consider other stuff as well. I have a shell jacket for regular use, good to hear they use it for MC clothing as well.

Will let you guys know if the Dianese boots are any good.
