Just wondering where about i could purchase a smaller number plate for my bike? Never really looked into it before, so if someone could tell me legal size of the number plate as well, would be much appreciated. Cheers Thumbs Up

I don't think there's a legal overall size, rather legal font size, spacing and border.

My plate has "11" on it which meant I could size the plate down a fair bit and remain legal*.

It's all on Google though.

*It's not technically legal because it doesn't bear a kite mark (I got it off eBay) but I did get the name and post code of the place I bought the bike put along the bottom edge so it should pass all but the closest scrutiny.

your local bike garage should be able to make you one if you know them or have a friend that knows them .
mine are just a bit smaller with the letters a bit to close , i got a warning at the eu demo run , thats the only time a cop has said anything .

If you don't mind risking the occasional tug from plod then you could buy a ''showplate'' from a number of places that advertise on 'tnet. You would, however, have to substitute it with the original legal plate each time that you presented it for its MOT.

I bought mine off ebay think it was £7 delivered.

Its 2 lines and 7 x 6 inches so a few inches smaller top and bottom, looks so much better.

Had a police car sat behind me a few times, they've never said anything,

police biker had a look round my bike once out of curiosity as his son was interested in getting one, never said a word.

If you take the piss with a one line tiny plate your asking for trouble though!
