30 mph over limit is a ban unless of course you are a judge Middle Finger
but expect a meaty fine and quiet a few points

Sorry to hear about you being caught man.
I worry about things like this whenever I'm out and about and over 100 on a motorway is asking for a ban...yet why do I still do it Confused

Get a good solicter etc, you may be able to get it down, ie you need your bike to get to work etc. So you can at least reduce the points / length of ban.

And indeed @ milo, though I tend to be good these days, or moderately so at least.

Everything in life's a risk, the trick is to know what the risks are and weigh up what is worth doing.

He wasn't doing 30mph over the limit. Hence he shouldn't get an automatic ban (unless he already has a collection of points).

Really sorry to here that! Some zones these days are ridiculously classified as 40, one that I was caught on at 9:30 one night had been a 60, but the police had decided to step it down to 40 for a good mile and a bit due to the fact a biker was killed a year or so back while travelling 120mph up it (im sure now its 40 other people who would have done that speed now drive like saints). This road is straight, wide and great visabilitly, but now everyone is restricted to crawling up it. I expect the road you were done on is a similar case. Its a shame police cant use discretion when speeds reach that high over the limit, even though it was night and probably wasn't any traffic about at all.
Hope you are lucky with any proceedings, hopefully you may just get a fixed penalty considering, although I don't think police can when that sort speed is invloved, when I was doing 15 mph over the limit in similar circumstances they were saying that they really should be giving me a summons for that!
Hope your lucky mate, Tell us how it goes and im sure it will slow you down in future (it sure has to me).
Cheers

Get you manager / teacher whatever to write a good character reference for you. My mate was caught doing 103mph on a dual carriageway at midnight and he was expecting a ban. His manager wrote a glowing reference and he ended up with 9 points and a £500 fine. Better than being banned though. Funny thing is his insurance only went up by £50 a year too!
