*Now sold*
1993 Yamaha XJR 400 R, 38000km/24000 miles, 6 months tax & test, no advisories on the last MOT but it'll be needing fresh pads up front along with the next service sooner rather than later hence the low price. Full paperwork and history during the 2 years I've owned it but nothing from before. It's got a good pair of Pilot Road 3s fitted and overall the bike is surprisingly presentable for a 20 year old machine. I use it as my daily commuter and it's ready to ride away.

I'm looking for £750
The good bits:
Decent Tyres
Recent exhaust system
Scottoiler
Ohlins
Speedo healer (Despite the stickers)
Classier than the average commuter
The bad bits:
All the usual XJR 400 rattles are present, the clutch basket is the main culprit with the noise disappearing once you put the bike in gear and start releasing the clutch, the CCT was replaced last year but it still has a fair bit of cam chain noise, again par for the course with these engines.
The right fork leg has some rust spots, it's high enough up the stanchion not to be an issue with fork seals thankfully.
As mentioned, it's coming up for service time and it'll be wanting front pads, fluids/filters and a carb balance ideally.
Lastly, the front indicators are rather temperamental, the fault appears to lie with a block connector just inside the headlight.
Despite the notes above, it's been superbly reliable and overall a properly nice bike to own and ride.
Cheers for reading. ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |
