Good or bad, unless you've been indoctrinated into believing this stuff as a child you can't just pick it up (barring major life crises and slight mental health issues) so it's kind of a moot point.

If you've been brought up to make up your own mind about these things then it does seem farcical but I know hard that might be to understand for the devout.

Put it this way...if you had never heard of religion and then someone told you about it as an educated adult with all the best evidence they could muster for why they've based their whole life on it, you'd think they were utterly insane.
