Okay haha basically I have had my moped (50cc) robbed and now i have no transport. I'm learning to drive but that will take a lot of time before I can afford to get on the road with a car, so i was thinking about buying a bike again just so i can get about on. I don't want another 50cc they're too slow and it's 6 months before i'm 18 so i want to take advantage of the extra power i'm able to have. This is my dilemma...

Should I just do my cbt again buy a geared 125 and wait till i can afford a car

Get a standard licence buy a bigger bike and wait till i can get a car?

Reason i ask is the cbt is £100 and i think the standard test isn't much more expensive but is there any point if the bigger bikes are going to cost more and cost more to insure? because i heard sometimes bigger bikes are cheaper to insure because 125's are associated with teenage crashing. and with the addition of a standard licence will my insurance go down?

What should i do? and whatever is the best idea can you give me some idea of good bikes to use? I like sporty bikes but i don't like the idea of throwing my knee down to the ground whenever i want to turn a corner because going from an automatic 50cc to a restricted 600 or 250 is a HUGE difference especially as i don't know how to use gears yet. Thank you!

Standard advice on these forums is get a second-hand Jap 125 and use it to practice for your tests. If you pass in time you won't need second CBT. It will give you the transport you are missing, and also be much better to ride than your late 50cc.
