So, I have a Docs appointment booked for 8.40 tomorrow morning.

For the last week I've had a splitting headache that won't go. I've also found it difficult to focus my vision, especially when looking at the Sky listings, etc. Lastly, I drink lots of water, I've done 1.5l since 8.30 this morning.

Now you google those symptoms and it throws up Diabetes. Which is nice. So before the Doctor tells me I have aids or something, can anyone reccomend andything I can do / what it may be?

I don't drink excessive alcohol or eat badly. I'm not overweight. I exercise regularly.

unless you're always tired and peeing all the time i wouldnt have thought it would be that.

headaches can be caused by many different things; wouldnt even want to hazard a guess tbh.

2 months or so ago, slightly long sighted, nothing major. It's not blurry all the time.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see what mr doctor man says. I could've caught the ghey.

I do pee quite alot, that goes hand in hand with drinking alot of water. Never thought anything of it. I don't drink tea or coffee so it's habit to just drink water all day at my desk, but I probably do 3litres min at work.

I'll do the Dr. House bit and have a wild guess at high blood pressure.

I do, I do, Iam and I don't and I don't have diabetes. Laughing

See what the doctor says rather than the internet. I bet you could read 1001 things that have those symptoms.

Exactly why I'm not reading too much into it. I'll update this after I've been.

If I don't update it I've probably died.

actually it doesnt. unless you're drinking excessive amounts.

im exactly the same. i drink tonnes of water, no tea or coffee but i dont pee often.

if you just drink a lot your body properly re-hydrates and you dont pee much. its normally when you're actually slightly de-hydrated that you pee a lot when you drink water as your bodies using it to try to flush out toxins.

a good indication of that though is after a glass of water, if your mouth is dry then you're de-hydrated and its your bodies way of telling you to have more.

but as you say you drink a lot regularly i doubt you're de-hydrated (although that is a cause of headaches)...

so yeh.. just to clarify.. drinking a lot of water doesnt mean you'll pee a lot unless you're really drinking 'too' much.

i dont think 1.5l is too much.. i use pint glasses and err (/does conversion) i've had about the same this morning (around 2-3pints) and i havent actually had to pee since i woke up but i will probably go have one in a sec as im about to go out for lunch Smile

if you've had to go a few times already then perhaps there is something else going on. Question

NEVER EVER GOOGLE YOUR SYMPTOMS! EVER! By the time you've finished, it's telling you that you are in a coma with beri-beri, measles and the plague. Stop worrying, get off the computer (bad for headaches) and just go along in the morning and see what the doctor says.

The Ghay... a definate 100% case of. Very Happy

I would say the water and pee'ing go hand in hand so wouldnt worry about that.

I get all day headaches from bad nights sleep (not that I sleep much anyway, but when them few hours are restless etc I will normally suffer the day after with a headache akin to a hangover.

Overhydration can lead to a situation in which the blood concentration of sodium -- one of the chemicals in salt -- gets too low. This condition is called hyponatremia, and a headache is just one of the symptoms

I work on a computer, only two hours left before no more!

Normally I'd agree with you and I'm not one for self diagnosis. But as it's been a full on 6 days of feeling like my head is in a vice, I thought I would.

Shit, thought so.

On a serious note, I'm not force drinking lots of water. I'm thirsty. But then I've been like that for ages.

Question

You pee less when dehydrated as the body tries to conserve water,
the best way to judge your hydration is by the colour of your pee, the paler the pee the more hydrated you are, and the more you will urinate, the darker the pee the more dehydrated you are and the less you will urinate, rule of thumb is by the time you are thirsty you are already slightly dehydrated Thumbs Up

see here..

https://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2009/08/07/magazine/2008_fall_dehydration_test.pdf

Edit... don't google "headache" or "blurred vision" it throws up a multitude of illnesses which can be concerning, the chances are it is something very minor Smile Thumbs Up

for those on about the water vs peeing thing. drinking plenty of water makes your body produce a hormone which tells it to pee loads. can't remember the name of the hormone though for the life of me.

it's a trick fighters use to cut weight for a weigh in. drink a gallon or so a day for a week or 2, and then for 48 hours before the weigh in drink nothing. body still has plenty hormone coursing around so you pee away all your fluids and lose 5-10lbs which can easily be regained in the 24 hours leading up the the actual fight.

Hi,
I had this for 2 weeks before it turned into a nasty snotty cold and finally went last weekend.

During that time i felt drunk Couldn't focus, couldn't think straight and felt like my IQ had dropped in other words i felt stupid lol (I sh*t you not). I also had a pounding headache. There were lots of ppl at my work with similar symptoms.

Anyway i'm nearly back to my old self. I'm putting my money on viral infection possibly a head cold?

Cheers,
Shaun R.

when I first moved to the Transvaal I got really bad headaches. I was taking panado several times a day and it didnt help. I have never ever called in sick from work in life, but these headaches were so bad I couldnt work.

I went to the doc and he said stress. I laughed. I said doc I have faced stress in my life in the army, and never got headcahes, and besides, there is no stress in civvie street.

he sent me to a specialist. The specialist (some neuro something), could find nothing and I was sent for an NMR. Nadda.

I went to the local herbal shop. They gave me something for sinus. First organic pill...head ache gone. The transvaal is bad for sinus.

Mayebe you have sinus? I had no runny nose, didnt feel stuffed up etc. Sinus openings clogged high up in your head and the headache is behind your eyes.
