Can anyone recommend some decent winter gloves (not lobster claw ones) that I would be able to take my hands out of without the liner coming out as well? I got some of the cheap alpinestar drystars from 2wheeljunkie, but as well as being quite cold, the liner came out after 2 days.

Any advice appreciated - I've only ever really used ski gloves over winter before.

You need to hold/pinch the tips of the fingers and wiggle your hand out gently.

The majority of winter gloves don't have the liner sewn to the outer layer. I ruined one pair of Spada enforcers rather quickly by taking my hands out wrong, the replacement pair have been fine for a few years now.

I have some handed down many many year old Spada gloves, no idea what model.

Never had an issue with the lining coming out, Tried to replace them 3 times now and every time I've ended up back with these because the lining has come out of the replacements. HG are the worst for it.

Never had the lining come out as long as I take a little care. Had that exact issue on my previous gloves though, to the point it annoyed me so much I removed the linings and now double them up with a pair of sealskinz wooly gloves to make a backup pair of WP gloves.

Urghh liners. I just cut the fuckers out and use the gloves without them.
In winter i put on some magic gloves under my bike gloves, basically the same as the liners anyway.

'Best' winter gloves I've found so far are the old AStars Jet Roads, fully textile, totally waterproof and really warm, the liner is thick and well stitched in enough that it's not inclined to stick to your fingers and pull out like some of the leather alternatives. Downside is they are almost as chunky as the lobsterclaw gloves.

Whilst not quite warm enough for the coldest of mornings, I swear by my HG leather xtrafit gloves, same idea and construction as AStars 365 GTX gloves, but with more comfort and a liner that doesn't try it's utmost to turn itself inside out. The fact they are half the price doesn't hurt either Thumbs Up

It's that that I can't be arsed with! I've gone back to last years £5 ski gloves for now.

Might try a pair of these on, see how the feel

They are good gloves but the lining is not attached to the outer and I fudged mine up by being lazy. On the plus side they are pretty warm and mine crashed well. The new pair is a few years old and going well Wink .

Currently using Richa Neon winter gloves - now about 18 months old, and I'm still more than happy with them.
They're not the warmest winter gloves I've ever had, but there's good feel to them, and in the event of getting soaked thru, they dry out fairly quickly. Ideal for commuting IMO

Well what is it you want??

Common advice from any glove manufacturer would be pinch the finger tips before hauling your hands out.

What about a lovely My Little Pony mittens then son?? Razz

A thread titled "Winter gloves that the liner won't fall out of" sort of gives a clue as to what it is that I'm looking for.

Well you wont get a winter glove the liner won't 'pull
out of. The liner is there to help keep the insulation in place.

Be arsed and pinch the fingers or be obstinate and pull the lining out.

I've got a pair of the Spada enforcers. Never had a problem with the liner coming out.

Then again, I'm not exactly sure how i could actually take a pair of gloves off WITHOUT gripping onto the fingers with my other hand.. Confused

Of they've just been gripped too tightly that's all.

Those are the absolute winter glove. I've been using mine (on & Off) for about three years. Toasty...

Some folk whine that 'they can't feel controls' due to the thick padding.... Feck the feckin' controls.. No frost bite even at 'Private Road Speeds' (As our very own Bodgerborg says)
