Hi all!
Got myself a date to my year 10 formal a while ago and I can't make up my mind about the arrivals. It's like three weeks away so I need to get cracking otherwise i'll be walking through the loop!

I was hoping for something interesting and memorable, not the classic 'hire out any old good looking supercar' thing that half the people do. I'm talking about something out of the box, but not too far or un-doable like a fucking v8 camel or some shit...

All ideas are considered. Cheers! Smile

you're in year 10, whatever you turn up in your dad is going to be driving. Just turn up, spend whatever your 'arrival' budget is on the bird, enjoy.

What the fuck is happening to our rapidly Americanising culture.

Year 10? Therefore... 16 years old? Arrivals? Balls? Promiscuousness much?

Seems like a socially divisive case of richest parents wins...

Go for the usual boring stretch limo, but ask the driver to dress up as Jimmy Saville. When you pose for your pictures make sure you look slightly upset and have half your shirt hanging out. Everyone will remember your arrival. Very Happy

A tank COULD be a possibility, I have a friend who's father is in the higher ranks in the army, but the only thing is, will it fit in the loop thing? That would be a once in a lifetime experience Very Happy

Meh about the horse ideas

I know about 5 people who are coming in limos already :S

Have to agree with this really. When I first posted I didn't even know what a year 10 formal was but was a bit embarrassed to admit it.

And if you really think the horse idea is "meh" you obviously have no class, young man Razz

Sorry, I'll make this clear now. The date and I already spoke about the horse idea and neither of us were fond of it. Not only that, neither of us can ride a horse! Wink

Also, I honestly don't see what's wrong about arrivals for a year 10 formal. It's a bit of fun for our last year of highschool. It's got nothing to do with richest parents either. I don't come from a wealthy family, and I'm not looking for the most expensive thing to turn up in either. Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Sounds like you missed out on a lot of fun of being a teenager! The only difference now seems to be the money spent, I was at house parties and clubs from 15. The whole 'prom' thing was a bit to conformist for me.

I have a car that beats most of the good looking cars in the attention stakes. I parked my classic fiat 500 next to a Porsche Carrera 4s a couple of days ago and sat in a cafe nearby, it was amazing to see everyone looking in my car and ignoring the Porsche.

If you want to arrive and get the attention of the ladies then do the 500, if you want the blokes to look then get a supercar / tank. I've heard you can hire them in the UK as wedding cars where they take the front seat out so the lady's dress can fit in - assuming you're not a giant you could sit on the back seat inappropriately close too Wink

Ha ha, I remember my "prom" although it was year 12 not year 10. I turned up in a Fiat Punto GT Turbo stoned out of my fucking eyeballs and smashed before I even walked into the place. Then being told that alcohol was not allowed we decided to fuck it off and find a pub. Quite fun sitting around in tuxes in the local pubs, felt like a stoned James Bond... can't believe it's been 11 years since then.... depressing. Neutral

EDIT: I think you should turn up on a chariot!!

Your worrying about the wrong thing, just concentrate on getting a couple of digits in your bird behind the bins and coming home with a smelly finger(s)
