Heard this on the radio this morning.
Apparently described as minor injuries, cracked/broken ribs.
The report said he was on the pavement.
Got to stay overnight in hospital.

Odd that, I guess being a celebrity has benefits. When I came off my bike with the same diagnosed injury they shipped me out of A&E in a couple of hours and I had to find my own lift/way home.

Credit to the spokesperson from CTC on Radio 5 though. He did say SMIDSY accidents affect cyclists as well as motorcyclists.

Thing is, it's Wiggo. He's as fat as a twig and was probably tonking on at 35 mph.

In with 'poor obs' first though. Laughing

All the papers say it was a white van.

BBC news website says it was a Vauxhall Astra, then has a picture of a white Vauxhall Vivaro which they say was "not involved"

confusing and conflicting info

I'd guess not as much so as private health care and / or insurance paid for private treatment clinics

He's a cyclist so probably had to keep in him that long for the drugs to get out of his system for treatment. Or am I being a little too jaded and cynical there? Thinking I mean he says his sport's clean now but then Lance Armstrong said he was clean and never failed a drug test Confused

Sorry, that's a little off-topic and whole new/old topic isn't it Brick Wall

Shocking that it was a van...!!! Not. It's the enemy of anything on 2-wheels, engine or not.

The only time I'd go on a road while on a pedal bike is to cross the fecker, I am very much a cycle path only rider or footpath, I don't care, it's not like London up here paths aren't exactly packed with people.

Wiggo's legendary status further enhanced by the fact he goes out in the wet, cold winter nights to train.

Top bloke.

I'm not at all surprised (if) it was a van, just confused by what it said on the BBC site about it not being a van, then showing a picture, of a van. Then saying the picture of the van had nothing to do with it
