Renewal for my Street Triple came in at £50 dearer this year dispite having 1 year experience and NCB @ £395 FC. Half decided to save a few quid and go TPFT so that makes it £265 via current broker (Triumph).

Anyway, wanted a Daytona this time last year but ins was too high so am also thinking about one now (before I'm too old lol)...Love the Street so rather than sell it buy a Daytona and run them both for a few months and decide which I'm gonna keep. Did have a test ride on Daytona but didn't really get a feel for it in the hour I had it..My thinking is that I won't loose a lot when I sell one in 6 months (ish).

TPFT for both the Striple and Daytona £235 through e-bike, which I think is the tits but just seems too good TBH. Not spoken to them yet, just don the quote online.

Any dealings with e-bike (good or bad)? I know they are a pain to contact.

Dave

I had e-car insurance for a year a while back, no problems at all although I didn't have an accident so only minimal contact with them, sent me my NCB near renewal, all pretty good really.
Only problem (and this is majorly minor) is that they are an internet company and to get in touch with them it's predominantly via email.

I'd use the again if the price was right. Thumbs Up

I used e-car insurance and they were really good, you could make all sorts of changes online. Thumbs Up

I do hate people though.

eBike was my first insurer, really cheap, but Carole Nash put them down big the time the year after. All I cared about at the end of my first year was the 1 year NCB certificate and it was fine and dandy.

They cancelled my insurance on my GSXR for a week without telling me.

Only found out because I chased them up on a different matter.

Wouldn't touch again with a bargepole.

FWIW eBike was recommended to me and I've had nothing but hassle getting quotes from them.

First try was for an 18yo on a 2003 Honda Varadero 125. Quote was for £1800+ so that was a non starter (actually insurance just over £300).

Second try was for a multi-bike policy for me. Turns out their web site doesn't do multi-bike even though it says you can and gives two vehicle option. Ended up 'phoning them and quote was more than Carole Nash so again a non starter.

All in all not that impressed by eBike. I might try their monthly rate at some point but I'm not holding my breath for a good deal.

FWIW for a single bike based on my recent experience try Just Motorbike Insurance (an online offshoot of Carole Nash), Carole Nash or as a comparison site thebikeinsurer (which is the engine/site used by Asda bike insurance).

<edit>
Just remembered the Tesco compare site had a 'deal of the day' that made it cheaper still (came up with same result as thebikeinsurer.co.uk but with the deal a bit more off).
</edit>

HTH Thumbs Up

Nothing but hassle. tried to change the bike on the policy & they sent through an email that could have been read as an extra, £85 per month, per remaining time on policy, or per additional annual premium.
I emailed them 7 times in 2 weeks and they would not make the cost clear.
They would not answer the question on their exorbitantly cost phone line and told me to email, (even after the previous 7 emails).

Eventually cancelled the policy & got snotty emails when they tried to collect the premium, even though I had cancelled

That was just to change a bike on the policy, God help you if something more complex happens

Crap ! Crap ! Avoid like the plague

Been with ebike for years now, never had a problem. Had 2 claims with them, both of which went swimmingly. My present policy has had 4 bikes on it at once and 13 total in the last year, Everytime I change something, do it myself online and then couple of days later a new set of documents flops through the post, it's all free.

From this thread it appears they are somewhat inconsistent.

Are you sure? Confused

I've used Ebike for 6 years or so. Always way cheaper than anyone else and by far the best option if, like me, you change bikes regularly or own more than one.

I insure three bikes at a time, all done online. There is no charge for changing the insured bike other than if it is a higher insurance group, even then they don't always charge more. I have never paid more than £20 to add another bike to my policy, usually it is £10 or free.

I've used them twice, no problems. They're my preferred insurer. Multi-bike, any mods, no problems chopping and changing (taking the 125 off and putting the GPZ on was 2 minutes and £0). I like doing everything by eStuff, there's no chance of them nobbing it up.

They will want to see a copy of your license - you can scan it or take a decent picture and email them that.

See if this gets you £40 off.

I've used them once.
Yeah, great prices, when you give them money.
Not so happy about giving any back though.
Six months since bike nicked & I'm still waiting.
That's the problem with insurance isn't it?

Just found out my issues with eBike quote might have been as I'd picked their classic quote first. Site was remembering my previous visit (cookies?) and I couldn't start a new quote. Clicked classic first as current policy regards my bikes as 'modern classic' as they're old (24 years is oldest!). However, eBike classics are older than that.

Anyhow could not enter all details as eBike web site isn't designed for small netbook screens. More hassle there, not good. For an online company they have some shoddy design. Eventually got a quote. In the end still more than Carole Nash and who I've gone with, Footman James.

Can recommend Footman James for their multi-bike on older machines. IIRC they do charge something like £20/£25 to swap bikes though.

Now I had the reverse..

I added a 2nd bike to my policy that was £3.5K compared to the £600 of the other bike for 4 months and chucked in a change of address as well for good measure.

All for NOTHING. Mr. Green

Althoug hthis year I did have a bit of the issue with them, as despite ticking the boxes to contact DVLA and previous ins co (geve details) they still wanted proof of licence and NCB.
A couple of short complaint emails sorted that issue for this year.

I'm with them as it was a good deal and I hadn't heard any horror stories particularly.

I've had no further dealings - they didn't reply when I emailed to clarify the terms of my insurance, that was 6 months ago. It keeps me legal so it'll do until renewal time.

Nice one guys, sounds like worth a punt then. If I just insure the STriple it comes in at just £117...which I think is bloody good.

My eBike insurance expires tomorrow morning. No problems with them but I've not had to have any dealings since I took the insurance out. Their renewal quote was over £100 more for less cover than the company I'm going with.

Was insured with them several years ago.

Great until I needed to make a claim (theft claim)

Took Months to pay out and it would of been longer if I wasn't chasing them every day by phone email and letter.

I dumped em when they put my premium up 1000% out of the blue.

No claims, no convictions whilst I have insured with them.
