Had a craving for a v twin to accompany my zx7r. I'm interested how tall they are?

I'm a short legged guy and am used to man handling bikes about, but I sat on a KTM super duke not so long ago and it was stupidly tall and would be a disaster waiting to happen, so I gave it a miss. Can't find any tlr's local to sit on to try.

Also anything to look out for??
Cheers
Mike

You'll probably find the bike around the same height as the ZX. If I recall its a tiny bit wider than the Firestorm and I have the same inside leg.

If your used to manhandling a bike around then you'll get on with the TL as it takes a bit of throwing around. It's had a reputation of being an animal. When looking at my latest bike my choices were the TLS, TLR and the Firestorm. All of which are around the same kind of price. It came down to the various reviews in the end. The reviews said the Storm was a bit more of a sedate V2 bike and a bit more forgiving. As I had just passed my test that settled it for me.

Nice bikes though but they do tend to be a bit more aggressive to ride and less forgiving. I know a guy thats killed 2 of them.

You should be OK, I had one and have similar inside leg, no problem at all.
It's a relatively narrow where you sit and centre of gravity is low compared to some bikes.

It would be wise to look for minor crash damage hidden behind the fairings.
I've noticed they seem to get through a lot of owners.
They are fun but not the most practical for commuting or popping to shops.
This may be why they seem to often get traded on after a year or so.

I found it easy to ride at silly speeds without realising.
100mph was nothing to it. Can your license stand it Smile

One little trick to watch for until you get used to it is a tendency to stall 'violently' when trying to trickle out of a junction or something.
It's a 'feature' of the engine but if you happen to be cornering it can kick you off if you don't get a foot down quick.
