I'm looking at putting some new bulbs in the CBR, at the moment it just has the standard Honda ones or similar. The previous owner has Osram Night Breakers in his 7R which were very impressive when I last saw them.

The bike has got a low beam relay fitted so I don't need to worry about power, but I've heard good things about:

Osram Night Breakers
Osram Night Racers
Philips X-Treme Power
Philips X-Treme Vision

can anyone recommend any of these? It's only £10-£20 of investment but if anyone has prior experience I'd rather buy based on that.

Cheers Karma

There is a current (no pun) thread on this same deal on the forum somewhere. Asks about HID though bulbs are covered too.

I modded my bike to take H4s and so far I've tried cheapo chinese bulbs and Osram Nightbreakers

Both were a massive improvement over the stock bulbs (mainly because it went from 70w to 110w total power).

Some things I've noticed, the Chinese ones gave out whiter light (heard the same about Philips too), but the Osrams project the light much further, like really really far. The volume of light given out is also much greater. Sadly, with the clocks going back, I haven't had a lot of experience riding in the dark, but I did a dawn commute this morning and they lit up the road excellently.

They look really well made as well (as they should for ~£8 a bulb), and I would definitely buy them again.

I've also heard good things about the Philips. To be honest I don't think you'll go wrong with either Smile.
