When I was in college, pool in student bar. All day between lectures, and 4 nights a week. Cheap if you're good and house rules is winner stays.

I know that's not "home", but it's my experience of college.

Otherwise it was programming for fun because I'm such a nerd. Didn't have any internet at college house either.

well, currently working on plans for my next RC boat while i get my tests out of the way

nothing fancy mind, apart from a double propeller, triple rudder system with bilge pumps, bow thrusters and other stuff.

not decided on steam, electronic or nitro yet though.

would love to do steam but fuel feed could be tricky lol

i might do the next one as steam, mostly due to the cost of the small steam engines, looking at £400+

all my boats are built from scratch using plasticard, styrene sheets.

very simple hull designs, flat bottoms, 45* sterns, but it makes for a nice stable RC boat. dont usually go for high speed, and often sell them off on ebay. first one i made went for £200+. although that was a VERY primitive one.
