So Im stuck with a do I/dont I dilemma at the moment of deciding to move back home or not.

Up until about 3 1/2 months ago I was renting with the now-Ex, we split and she moved out.
I had the choice there and then to move back to the parents (they suggested it) or stay on my own.
I decided to try retain my independence & freedom by living alone, ran through the finances etc and it was doable.

Fast forward to now and Im just not happy with my current situation.
I tend to struggle a bit every month so far and I don't have much money for hobbies or going out etc. (If the car breaks down, Im fucked)
Also come to the conclusion that living alone is not all that great.

There are parts of living alone I enjoy and having my own space to myself as well as the freedom etc.
However I tend to suffer from depression and I know living with my parents helps this as they are very supportive of me.

I've still got an open invitation to go home and Im seriously thinking about it but I cant seem to get over that it feels defeating and a bit demeaning to be moving back home at 26 years old.
After reading this to myself it sounds like a very clear choice but at the same time cant get over the feeling that it feels a bit wrong somehow.

I would not intend to stay for too long, possibly save for a year or two (at most), get back on my feet and give it another go.

Move a mate in for a few hundred quid a month?

I couldn't move back in with my parents after being out for so long (28 now left when I was 17)!

No shame in going back; seems to make sense financially and emotionally if you've found living on your own sucks. The only other thing you could try is a flatmate to keep you company and help with the bills (if that's allowed etc), but if you don't fancy that, moving back home seems a good idea, it doesn't have to be forever!

Pretty much nailed it.
As silly as it may sound writing it down and receiving quite straight forward opinions helps. Thumbs Up

Move in with some mates or look for a house share? Better for your social life than living at your parents Thumbs Up

Go back home, pay your parents some board. Save some dough up / pay off any debts. Go out and have a good time, check the lie of the land in say 6 months time.

i lived with family till i left home at 15

i have moved away and now i have a large two bed flat in a small town where rents cheap (£70 weekly)

yes i have to commute to see people but i have much more living space and can still afford too run two bikes and go out on £170 income a week

i have friends that live in the city but pay more than double my rent for one bedroom Sad

see if there is cheaper accommodation available elsewhere

just an alternative suggestion Thumbs Up
