Well, yes. After passing my test, I promised my girlfriend I would take her for a ride...literally
So I took the plunge and went to pick her up. Told her the do's and don'ts and shit, then off we went. I struggled to handle the bike at first, but it was OK after that. Fuck me, when she took that open faced helmet off and shook her hair
Rode 4 miles to the park (big secluded foresty-countrysidey place), had a tea, walked and left.
However I didn't adjust the tyre pressure and I shat myself on a few corners as it felt like the bike was going to drop, does anybody adjust their rear tyres? Noting that I don't own a pump lol ____________________ My Bikes: Lifan Beat 125cc '11 -> Suzuki B120P '76 -> Suzuki EN 125-2A '08 -> Honda CG 125 '04 -> Honda CB600F Hornet '98 -> Kawasaki ZZR 600 '99 -> Kawasaki GPZ 500S '95 (Current)

nice one riding with a pillion is fine once you get used to it, and i only really adjust my tyre pressures etc on a long ride, anything less than an hour and I just live with it ____________________ Ybr 125 > Bandit 650SA > GSXR 600 > Triumph Sprint St1050 > CB1300 > Z1000SX + FJ1200 (written off) > VFR750 >FJ1200 |

Two up on a CG is a pain in the arse at best.
Use the C spanner in the tool kit and crank up the rear suspention to the highest. Also put 33PSI in the rear.
Also says max weight is 180KG inclusive of rider, pillion, luggage, other tackle etc.
Good fun though eh ____________________ Plodding along on my CG |

I took the bike through Lincoln Road in Peterborough, just hoped some Asian with an army of children didn't run across the street ____________________ My Bikes: Lifan Beat 125cc '11 -> Suzuki B120P '76 -> Suzuki EN 125-2A '08 -> Honda CG 125 '04 -> Honda CB600F Hornet '98 -> Kawasaki ZZR 600 '99 -> Kawasaki GPZ 500S '95 (Current)

I've been taking my wife for rides on the CBF 125, which is maybe *slightly* bigger than the CG, but no more powerful. The first time, was awful. The bike felt extremely top-heavy and awkward, but I've been getting used to it quickly. I told her I think she's getting lighter by the day...That went over well.
On such a light bike, you definitely need to adjust the preload (set it to position 3, the highest) and pump up your rear tyre to 33psi. That makes a big difference. ____________________ Current: '14 VFR800X Test passed 31/10/12.

I love having my wife on the bike ..... she keeps the bike planted in corners and it just feels nicer. Don't know why. ____________________ Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. |

depends on the size of your GF relative to you. If she is a 50 kg slim one, I dont bother. If she is bigger, or you are small, up the pre-load, and tyres only if you going long distance. Otherwise the front end will feel light.
If she outweighs you, then you need to consider your tastes
I would be more concerned that you take her to a secluded spot after a ride and only offer her tea instead of slipping her the long one
She got a pillion trip, and you were stuck with an unserviced erection and probably the bill for the tea. Sounds like it is you who was taken for a ride ____________________ 2011 KTM 990 Dakar
