Well, yes. After passing my test, I promised my girlfriend I would take her for a ride...literally Wink

So I took the plunge and went to pick her up. Told her the do's and don'ts and shit, then off we went. I struggled to handle the bike at first, but it was OK after that. Fuck me, when she took that open faced helmet off and shook her hair Razz Razz Razz Razz Razz

Rode 4 miles to the park (big secluded foresty-countrysidey place), had a tea, walked and left.

However I didn't adjust the tyre pressure and I shat myself on a few corners as it felt like the bike was going to drop, does anybody adjust their rear tyres? Noting that I don't own a pump lol

The first time I took a pillion I nearly dropped the bike at the top of the road pulling out.

Now I think nothing of having a pillion, Just keep your tyre pressures checked and up the rear pre-load slighty if you take a pillion offen.

Two up on a CG is a pain in the arse at best.

Use the C spanner in the tool kit and crank up the rear suspention to the highest. Also put 33PSI in the rear.

Also says max weight is 180KG inclusive of rider, pillion, luggage, other tackle etc.

Good fun though eh Thumbs Up

I took a pillion once, never again. I felt like I was a child minder having to watch what I was doing all the time and being responsible, really had no fun and felt uncomfortable.

Took mate down to Peterborough a couple of Fridays ago.
I hated it to start of with, but I soon got used to how the bike handled.
Not something i'd want to try on a 125 though.

Bloody distracting isn't it. On the bike they go for the little soldier... but off the bike "I'm too tired!" Laughing

Also no, I never bother adjusting my tyre pressures. My bike feels so terrible to ride anyway that it doesn't make much difference. Smile

First time I took a pillion, it was very erm, different.

180kg bike with a reasonably low CG became a 250kg bike with 70kg perched at the top... was quite difficult holding it upright when stationary, my legs are rather short.

Also kept getting woodpecker-ed every time I accelerated and changed gear

I've been taking my wife for rides on the CBF 125, which is maybe *slightly* bigger than the CG, but no more powerful. The first time, was awful. The bike felt extremely top-heavy and awkward, but I've been getting used to it quickly. I told her I think she's getting lighter by the day...That went over well. Very Happy

On such a light bike, you definitely need to adjust the preload (set it to position 3, the highest) and pump up your rear tyre to 33psi. That makes a big difference.

I never had any issues with one of the wifes kids on the back of my scooter/bikes (I'm 12 stone he's 11 stone), didn't notice any difference in handling (OK it was crap trying to get up hill on the scooter but still managed a reported 56 downhill.

Never adjusted anything or checked tyre pressures or anything.

Worst pillion was the wifes daughter... on the 125 (intruder) she would lean over on the corners even after being told not to several times... then on the 600 (diversion) I told her to hold on tight, but every time I touched the throttle I could feel her hands slipping as she was leaning back (even at very low speeds), so I had to keep hitting the brakes to knock her forward again.

I've done this and used this very excuse with feminine pillions. Probably (hopefully?) for different reasons than you with your wife's daughter though Wink.

I love having my wife on the bike Wink ..... she keeps the bike planted in corners and it just feels nicer. Don't know why.

depends on the size of your GF relative to you. If she is a 50 kg slim one, I dont bother. If she is bigger, or you are small, up the pre-load, and tyres only if you going long distance. Otherwise the front end will feel light.

If she outweighs you, then you need to consider your tastes Mr. Green

I would be more concerned that you take her to a secluded spot after a ride and only offer her tea instead of slipping her the long one Mr. Green

She got a pillion trip, and you were stuck with an unserviced erection and probably the bill for the tea. Sounds like it is you who was taken for a ride Laughing Twisted Evil

Jesus, me and the missus got a bit lost and ended up on Lincoln road once on the bike, I could feel the wheel nut unscrewing itself in preparation.

Also the same on the residential side of Burgess Boulevard, don't go there! people start coming out of their houses when you go by.

Didn't realise you were all so close to me(I'm in Huntingdon)
