Clutch needed to start

So I'v I parked up my DR125SM on a 11 plate for the last 6 months as I'v been walking to work. I went to go out on it last night for the first time thinking the battery would be dead but I was wrong.

The battery was fine, but my bike needs the clutch pulled in to start now. It's like the bike thinks its still in gear when its not. I could just cross over the wiring to fix the problem or just pull in the clutch every time I want to start it.

took it on a longish ride to see if that would fix it but it didnt.

any advice chaps?

Standard on Suzukis for many years now, you need to pull the clutch for the starter to work, whether in gear or neutral.

If your 11-plate bike is fuel injected don't bypass the clutch switch. Pulling the clutch in on fuel injected Suzukis invokes the neutral fuelling map.

you guys are right. i just completely forgot i needed the clutch pulled in. thanks for the help guys! it had just been ages since i started the poor thing.
