Hey guys, just had an off where someone pulled out of a junction in front of me. Last time I was off a bike I was called up and blindly accepted the first one that offered, horrible woman who was incredibly slow and condescending -.-

Anyone know a good one or firm?

Why do you need a lawyer? Just claim through insurance.

Ignore this fool. Lawyers exist to help you.

Unless you were injured, you will have to go through your insurance company as a solicitor cannot recover their costs in damage only claims unless the value of the claim is over £5,000.

Even if you were injured, the claim has to be worth over £1,000 otherwise they can still not recover their costs, and even then if it is a minor injury it is a case of pot luck as your case will be handled on the portal system with fixed costs involved.

I see, last time I had one thrown at me right away and didn't think about choosing. But the claim this time is likely to be a lot smaller since nothing broke. Thanks for the advice.

Mcams... they will only take up your case if its non fault... all success fees/ other fees will be paid by the other party if you win.. if you lose you wont get charged as well. If your motorcycle has now become a none runner due to the accident they will also give you a courtesy bike also for free

Sorry... I don't understand...

I've never seen the words 'good' and 'lawyer' used in the same sentence before !

Presuming there's no injury or actual damage to the bike then and you're just after compensation for gear?

They are also a claims management firm who will sell the case on for a referral fee (illegal from next April), and they can only sell the case on if there is injury and an injury worth taking on at that.

And whilst the courtesy bike may seem to be free, if as has happened recently the other side contest the fees, or they forget to include the hire costs within the schedule of damages, then the hirer becomes liable for those costs (which is happening more and more)

As a damage only claim, far better to just deal with it through the insurance.
