Hi all, just a heads up, I'm doing a day on the Surrey trails and some ucr's, this is aimed at the bigger trail bike ( gs,xt,transalps, that sort of thing, I'll be on a Aprilia Pegaso so nothing to tasking ). it will be an all day ride and starts at Rykers Box hill at 0930hrs on Sunday 11 Nov.
Just to let people know, the route has - Gravel pathways / Muddy tracks / A few small water crossings / Chalk hills ( always good in the wet ) / Sandy tracks, deep in places, and I will not be on any illegal lanes but as I said, just out for a good day
If you would like to come along, please let me know as I have posted on a few sites and places will be limited to 8, also probably not suitable for a total novice, as its an all-dayer . |

Not this one, , but would be interested in future ones, when I've got more experience, plan to get Twin Duro type tyres on my 650. I'm an (almost) absolute beginner at this off road malarky though. Got under 500 miles experience on my XR250, and one day at off road school so far. |

Big thanks to all for making it such a great day, billed as a big bike route and indeed it was , we ended up with a good mix from KTM990 and BMW GS to 2 Van Van's with a few KTM690r's and me on my Aprilia 650 ( Which, even if I do say so myself, held its own ( must be the tyres )).
Set off from Rykers cafe, after a hot drink, the ride up was a bit chilly ( Brrrrr ),
The first lane ( Buckland lane )was mainly used to set the tyre pressures  ,being uphill and mainly chalk base with loose mud.
Looped up to the top of Box hill for 1100hrs, for a few moments of remembrance, then set off, I don't think you could ask for better weather in November .
I did take my digital camera, but after seeing Kris's ( insert own joke here ), I had a bit of camera envy  , not to mention the Gopro's and Drift.
Clocked 143 miles and the last hour on the lanes in the dark. ( showing the lads from Dartford where there van was .)
Must say a Big apology to John who got split from the group ( the person marking the A3 junction didn't wait and was not until after Elstead, when he rode up to me and said '' I haven't seen the guy on the 990 for a while'' so doubled back and looped around Godalming, but all to know avail, so sorry about that.
I think everyone had a good time and the pace was good for such a long day .
Here's some pics and a link to the rest, and I'm sure there will be some better ones along shortly
The first few are from the recce run .
