Anyone got any advice on how to clean an oil drip tray? Ive been using the same thing for years, just basically a kitchen basin and it is filthy as you can imagine. Dont see the point in throwing it away because it still serves its function, but is there anyway to give it a good thourough clean. I usually just leave it upside down outside and all the excess oil drips out of it - fuck the world, but thought i'd ask if there is any cheap ways of getting the oil off the bottom.

Jeez - a dash of paraffin/petrol/turps and a few minutes scrubbing with an old dish or toothbrush will free up all the clag. Swill around and pour out. Done.

Another vote for paraffin, as it's dirt cheap and works wonders, along with a cheap rag/old T shirt/grundies/whatever.

Life is too short to be cleaning oil drip trays. It's supposed to be dirty and oily instead of your workshop floor.

In the highly unlikely event I ever wanted to wash a drip tray, I'd use the same thing I use to wash almost everything else. Hot, soapy water.

You filthy person!

Rub the tray down with a new Armani suit and some diesel.

Clean it, then use these

When dirty, remove put in bin, replace. Rinse and repeat as regularly as you feel the need.
