Hello everyone!

Well, the little lady is following in our footsteps and she's going to do her CBT and get herself a motor Smile Here's the hard part, she really is a *little* lady, and I'm wondering what 125's out there will fit a 5'0" woman.

Cheers for any repsonses guys, hopefully we'll see you on the road soon Smile

Chris

I think she's the same size as your little lady. Though if I am wrong, she'll come back stressing that it's one extra inch Very Happy.

Sorry... It amuses me sometimes. Please don't take it to heart.

She's really liking the look of the NSR, but we don't know if it'll be short enough for her.

If she is 5 ft 0 (like myself) then she should just about be able to fit on a Mito or any cruiser type. I believe NSR's are do-able for the midget variety but never tried that one.

Hi

The NSR is quite narrow (which is as important as the height). If you can find an imported Cagiva Freccia then these are low and narrow as well. The Mito is not that low and is also quite wide, same for the Aprilia RS125. Also the TZR125 is quite narrow and low, but is kick start only, or if she can take the lack of performance and the price then a CBR125.

After that you are pretty much on to the cruisers and the commuter bikes.

All the best

Keith

I am 5' 0" (well, the nurse said 5' and a quarter.... so, yes Susi I'm very angry Wink Laughing) and rode an NSR125RK, it was a pretty old bike (1991), but was the narrowest, lightest and smallest of the sporty 125s. I actually found it easier to ride than the cruiser types - which whilst are lower they are more heavy.

The advantage of the NSRs is that the seat will cut down too if she is still struggling. I never could get my feet flat on the floor, and sometimes slopey roads/junctions were a problem, but not enough to put her off!

Best of luck Thumbs Up

My wife's just over 5 feet and she's got an NSR, the seat is good and spongy and easy to cut down. You can cut some of the padding out and it's still comfy.

Depending on how much you have to spend you could always consider the CBR125. It's supposed to be very small and light which makes for a good learner/stepping stone of a bike.

Thanks guys, she's got her heart set on an NSR or an RS like me. I'm hoping she goes for the NSR to be honest, don't want a 'his and hers' thing going on.

Anyhow, thanks for the advice Smile

The sachs XTC is a smart bike. That is a cheap price you got it for. £3700+ new. What is the performance like on them, ease of getting parts etc.

The CBR400 is quite low - the triarm is slightly highter than the gull arm - I think the seat height on a gull arm is 21" which I believe is the lowest of the 400s.

The raptor and the ducati monster are both very low (I can get my feet down knees bent on those) for when she is ready to move up to bigger bikes.

NSR's are a nice size. I'm 5'8" and if anything it's a tad too small for me (which is fine...I feel in control of it). However, I have small and thin hands and I find the clutch lever a bit of a stretch. Maybe that's something I will adapt to. But from what I know and what everyone else has said about NSR's, they are the ideal bike to learn on anyway.

Best of luck to her, you've just got to find one now!! Thumbs Up

The Sachs is massively tall, it's very narrow but it's really tall, following them looks weird as it looks like a supermoto but with a sports bike riding position so it looks really weird too Laughing but they are tall!

I did street fighter it for a week and if it had longer forks it would be a super moto the ground clearance without the fairing is mental

Leg length is all that matters, if you can get both feet ont he ground then its ridable.

Most asian people are quite small, im sure hights of 5ft or a bit more are fairly common in japan and china. So don't rule out an import bike.
