Yeah i had a motor accident along the A23 in norbury london today.
I was side by side with a red royal mail van going down the road at say a speed of 30mph. Then he suddenly turns left into someones driveway swipping me off my bike, i then bounced for around 10-20 yards until my helmet made contact with a smallish brick wall which separates the road from someone elses garden.

I was left baffled on the floor rolling in pain. A group of motorists then came surronding me each fighting to be 'chief first aider'. Then some bloke came along and asked the driver who hit me 'were you indicating?' the driver then said 'yes' the bloke then said 'are you sure' the driver of the van said 'yes again along with few other words'... then the bloke said 'you know im a police officer and i saw you turn left into the motorcyclist without indicating' the driver of the van then zipped it and started smirking.
Then the off duty police officer took over and told everyone to stand bike, and collected all of the witnesses details who were saw the driver turn left into me without even indicating. Anyway even if he indicated i had right of way.

Evil or Very Mad

I new something bad was coming round the corner this week... after being hit by a bmw at a set of traffic lights etc. Luckily this incident only left me with a battered arm and neck.

Now what should i do ? After my possessions were passed about from police to doctors etc the piece of paper which had a list of witnesses names and contact details/ cad number have been lost along with my cad number. Confused

I don't know much about these situations but chances are even if it's lost, I doubt they'll just forget about you.

If your necks sore now then chances are it will hurt a lot more over the next few days, if it was me I'd claim this has affected my livelihood temporarily.

Not lose the most important bit of information relating to this whole ordeal? Also, were you in the bus lane?

If you stopped your 'say 30mph' with your head on a brick wall, I'd be very concerned about the state of your neck and back.

Unfortunately they will, they'll presume it's sorted. Very few people would go out of their way to make sure someone completely unrelated to them gets a couple quid out of a van driver in the wrong. Inb4 loads of good people on bcf with anecdotes of how they went above and beyond Laughing

Firstly, m8? Are you actually 12 years old?

Secondly, do you know the reg number of the other party. I gained a copy of the police report in a crash from quoting both reg numbers.
Also, your insurance will do most of the chasing for you.

To answer your other thread, if you are sure it's not your fault and will prove it, demand a hire bike.

You can call up and get your CAD number, go in to the nearest nick to the accident (be prepared to maybe queue for a while) and ask for it, they will give you the crime number which is what the insurers need. The witness details should be linked to it.

Anyway, glad you are still walking Thumbs Up

Van to blame? Technically yes.
Cause of accident? "I was side by side with a royal mail van" - why on earth would you do that? Either drop back or get past it (even if that means momentarily breaking a speed limit), riding in a van's blind spot will invariably end badly.
GWS and don't ham up the am-dram too much.

Sorry to hear you crashed but glad you seem okay. Seems like a lot of BCF accident threads popping up at the moment.

Was it two lanes then? Or was he overtaking, or you under-taking?

Need more detail. Paint diagrams usually work best.

Nowt to do with the blind spot - have you seen how badly battered royal mail vans are? Judging from the state of their vans and how I seem them driving, there are some of the worst drivers out there working for them!

Your insurance company and/or solicitor will apply for a copy of the Police crash report and they will be sent an edited version once they have closed the case. It will contain all the relevant information needed to progress the claim as far as the civil side is concerned.

I'd phone up the met, or whatever your local police force is, and explain the crash and what has been lost, hopefully they'll circulate it around their cunstables.

I don't think a GSXR600 or a R6 is very suitable now.

I too am perplexed by the 'side by side' comment. Given that you say he swung into a driveway, which makes it sound like a residential or semi-residential area, I'm not sure it would have been two lanes which makes me question the legality of YOUR positioning.

Get yourself checked out (always a sensible formality) but we need a Google Street View of where the accident took place and a far more detailed and coherent account to properly understand what happened.

I still haven't cancel my mod 2 test for 30th nov. If my bruising goes down then i will take it and if i pass, i will most likely just accept total loss and get full value of the bike back and use the money on a bigger bike or car.

Police won't tell me if they have any witness statements. Plus the guys who took my bike are asking for £150 plus £10 per day for storage.

Piss take hay... when you consider my house was just 5mins away.

Yeah, this Thumbs Up Turned into a driveway at 30mph? Confused He's going to have to have braked at some point I'd have thought. What were you doing?
OP, your stories are ALWAYS missing something usually very relevant so pinch of salt is always applied...
