Throttle Cable Snapped

Well took my cagiva mito 125 out for its first blast today, after I got it running bloody right pain. Water and rust an general crap in fuel tank such a pain to remove. But any how as was riding throttle cable snapped. I luckily managed to fix at side of road. Can I repair with a new inner wire I have bullet end which have a grub screw in so I could push new one threw and tighten. Would this work and be ok. Also would the cable have to be the correct length. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Just replace it.
