Hi guys, I know this isn't an "Introduce yourself" section but I think this post belongs here which will become clear soon enough.

I've been riding for a little over 3 years now (on L plates) and I passed my mod 2 yesterday! I'm now 33bhp restricted for 2 years. So my topic is bike suggestions.

I'm a uni student so fuel economy, reliability and price to insure/buy are all important. I'm 6'4 so not really made for the whole supersport thing but I do love the sporty looks. I don't drive (and don't plan on doing so anytime soon) so motorcycling is my only form of transport and so ride in all weathers, I also plan on doing longer journies such as camping trips etc. Finally, I want a bike with a fairing as naked bikes are quite uncomfortable for me on long trips. That being said, these are the bikes I'm thinking of:

CBR600F
GSX750F
FZS600
Bandit S

Anymore suggestions? Also, I'm not sure if I want fuel injection or not. All I've owned is carb bikes and found them to be a bit of a pain but they were leaner 125's so probably hadn't been very well looked after by previous owners.

Ps. I have 3 years NCB, I've had quotes of £200 - £350 for the CBR, GSX and FZS. Haven't checked the Bandit yet though

Hullo mate....

Welcome. I am a fairly new rider too. I have a Bandit S. I love it.. I have found it reliable and fairly economical! It has a lovely riding position, and doesn't hang about. Mine is a K5, on an 05 plate. It is the 650 and has carbs. I can't compare it to any other bikes.. 'cept a CBF 500, but I have no hesitation recommending it.

PS.. Congrats on passing the Mod 2.

Fazer of course - but I'm biased. I use one as my "every day bike".

Have you looked at this motorcycle ergonomics website? If you are 6'4" then it could give you an idea of how squished you will be on the different bikes.
