Hi guys,
I have a Derbi Senda XTreme 50R (White fairings, 2011) and its seen 4k miles. Having bought it for just over £2k just under a year and a half ago, I want to see some money back hopefully Embarassed

It has a Tecnigas "derestricted" exhaust on it which ended up doing, quite frankly, f*** all because of I couldn't change the jets. (Horrible access & factory clips on the carb).

Anyhow, I now have the old, exhaust thats lacking its original black factory paint job after a years solid use and the Tecnigas exhaust.

Now lets say you were buying the bike, would you like the factory exhaust on it (repainted of course) and the derestricted, fancy exhaust on the side, or the other way around?

Think about your target market...

To the types of buyer the 'fancy' exhaust would probably seem like a good thing. Paint up the factory and sell it with it. If it were just about any other target market I'd say get the factory part on there.

Whenever I make modifications to my bikes or anything for that matter, I keep the original parts so when it comes to selling I say in the advert that it comes with all original parts, that's the best way IMO, buyer will be getting extras but also original parts if wanted.

If you have had that technigas system on for a while and not up jetted I am surprised your bike runs very well!

thats the point, its not great! Laughing
Maybe I would be best selling it with the factory exhaust on. It ran better with the factory one but it has more acceleration with the tecnigas. The old exhaust would rev to maximum but with the tecnigas, it prevents it revving so much.

I might just polish both exhausts, put factory back on and say it had old exhaust on and its their choice if they want to fit it. A bike with a free £150 exhaust cant be that bad, right? Thumbs Up

cheers guys for advice Smile

What's exactly stopping you accessing the carb? I would be too tempted to jet it correctly and feel the benefit but that's a whole different can of worms and I have a thing for geared 50s haha

well its a 2011 with the shitty clips instead of those nice hose clips that you would find if Derbi wanted me to do things nicely.

I am worried that if I up jet now, considering that I'm selling it in two weeks, it would no longer have its value to 16 year olds (since its learner legal) and I don't think i've met anyone who's 17 and would rather have a 50 to a 125

How do I put this, at sixteen your only allowed a 50cc bike with a top speed of 30mph, I can't tell you one 16 year old I m le who's moped/geared 50 did 30mph, including mine

It's not an issue as long as you don't sell it as learner legal in the title

Hmmmmmmm, I know plenty of 16 year olds whos moped hit 50mph. I think I would want to persuade parents to buy it being the safe learner legal 32mph machine. Besides, they are the one who have the $$$ Laughing

Plus, if its learner legal their kids can always ruin the thing after they have bought it, I don't think thats my job Thumbs Up

I'm thinking respray exhaust, clean it right up, fit an HID kit (got one in my car, and the headlight on it is crap) and itl be good Smile

leave it as completely stock, mot 16 year olds looking to buy it will be doing so with their parents money who will want them to buy something stock that's not been messed around with.

forget fitting the hid headlight and sell your aftermarket exhaust separately. your selling your bike to realise as much money from it as possible, not to do anyone any favours so why sell any of the bits for less or do anything to devalue what your selling?

A bike will sell better as stock, and you will gain more money by selling any extras seperately.

Thanks guys,
I never thought about selling it separately Rolling Eyes ! Would maximise profits and i doubt any 16 year old would appreciate me sourcing the new exhaust anyway.
Cheers guys
