Hello all im chris. for the last 10 years i have been driving but thought it was about time i started with bikes.
Last sunday i got on my first bike ever and loved it, passed the cbt on it and then went to look for a bike.

i have dropped a doo doo with the bike i bought as i think its an auto (reading what everyone says about them on here i have a scooter lol)
the gilera dna 125.

now my first questions, ive not collected or seen the bike yet but as i stand by my word i am buying it no matter what. insurance quote said it was a manual. do they do these bikes as a manual or will be be an auto?

also can anyone that owns one tell me the rough running costs please, how much to fill and what sort of distance it will do?

cheers
chris

Welcome!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilera_DNA

Looks like auto only.

On my 125 I get 110 mpg with a 20/80 mix of A roads/30mph(ish) streets.

Wikipedia says 10l capacity (about 2 gallons) so about 220 miles (roughly) before you run out and have to push it - I'm going by experiences on my manual 125, auto might be different..

Hi Chris, I'm sure you'll enjoy it even though it is a rev and go. Use it to practise on then pass your test and buy something more interesting Thumbs Up

Rule of thumb for 125cc bikes is about 100mpg.
I rode a scooter for a year before moving onto geared bikes and loved every minute of it.

Thank you for the welcomes. Collected the bike and have a small shopping list before i can get it on the road.

i dont suppose anyone has done a water pump on this bike have they? looking for a user guide / advise on how to do it if anyone can help?

i dont know if it has defo gone, i am only going of what i have been told by previous owner.

other than the pump i just need to sport out the seat catch, fit a new fairing and replace a rear indicator

then i can finally join the bikers on the road Very Happy
