Years ago i did my car licence (1999/2000) and ive just passed mod 2 but it struck me that the car test might be a little bit more "accurate" in terms of the overall minors etc, because the examiner can safely sit there, and score away, whereas the examiner on his own bike has to remember these, and be able to tot these up at the end of the test, while driving their own bike/watching out for other hazards on the road, not just us

i recall when i was doing lessons a few months ago, i was told it was a safe drive they were looking for and having been through the experience i couldn't agree more, as it is particularly dodgy bits they will be looking for and recall, as if we do it on a test we are guaranteed to do that elsewhere. "safe driving for life" and all that.

I must say the guy was very fair, and i certainly gave him a few reasons to think about failing me on the basis of that ride as i made a few minor gaffes, which were discussed at the end of the test. but i must have done enough to merit a pass (i think).

Did your examiner ask you to pull in at anytime?

On my Mod 2, I was asked to pull in 4 times. When we had pulled in somewhere, he was marking his checklist, so was marking me as the test went along.

Let's be honest, it's a pass / fail test. The scorecard is just some rear echelon OCD spacker's way of justifying the yes / no decision made at the sharp end.

As Roger said, I'm sure most think 'Yeah this bloke rides ok, unless he fucks it up I'll pass him' Then they just make up some minors randomly.

Then there's the others that just fail themselves by being really shit or doing something silly on the day.
