Could be that the battery's not as good as it could be...the cold weather would cause the voltage to drop a little more and when it's turning the starter motor it just doesn't have enough power to generate a decent spark.
No problem in using the kickstart, nothing to worry about ____________________ Aprilia Classic 125, GS500E, ER5-A1, ER5-C4, ER6 & an XJ6 project frame... |

I'd always assume that if you had a kickstart and it works when you use the kickstart, the bike is fine ____________________ I'm Sam; Northern, Ginger, Lover

Yep. More likely to be an under-par battery than anything else. |

Voltmeter on the battery, charge it up, if it's still under-volting, that's a problem for the dealer. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

It's all good dude!!!!
My town commuter has the same prob..
Where ever the bike metal was forged, obviously hasn't been witness to brit cold (assuming yer in england)
So.. as an end result the internals take even longer to warm up than a brit made bike..
Kickstarter...to be honest, i love Steed's with Kick Starters!
Once the bike is warm however, i've found that the button does work unless.. you begin to hear a clicking.. i would charge or refill and charge or just replace that battery ____________________ Current Bike: Deciding Between GT650 or SV650S
